the Iconic Polo
The SCAPA SPORTS polo first appeared in the summer of 1999, originally designed for the SCAPA Polo Team. Made from 100% cotton in Portugal, at the same factory SCAPA SPORTS continues to work with today, it soon found a life far beyond the polo field. Worn in its signature blue with a pair of well-loved jeans, it became one of those rare designs that felt instantly recognisable: sporting in origin, yet entirely at ease in an everyday wardrobe.
At its heart is the unmistakable number 3. In a four-player polo team, the third position belongs to the pivotal player, reading the game and moving between attack and defence with instinct and control. That combination of confidence, intelligence and ease gave the shirt much of its character, while the bold number, collegiate lettering and polo references established a visual language that would become synonymous with SCAPA SPORTS. More than twenty-five years later, those codes remain as distinctive as ever
Its longevity lies in that balance. The polo carries the authenticity of its sporting beginnings without being confined by them, allowing it to be rediscovered and worn differently by every generation. Details may shift and proportions may evolve, yet the character of the original remains immediately familiar. An emblem of SCAPA SPORTS that has moved naturally from the field into everyday life.
Julie Kegels x Scapa Sports
For Spring/Summer 2026, Antwerp designer Julie Kegels brought her own perspective to the Iconic Polo for her Paris show Quick Change. Working from the original, she introduced a deeper opening, renewed logo details and repositioned the number 3 at a slight angle, giving a familiar emblem a different energy. The collaboration grew from an encounter between Kegels and SCAPA founder Arlette Van Oost, bringing two generations of Belgian design together around a piece they both understood instinctively. Produced as a limited edition, the result carries the history of SCAPA SPORTS forward through a distinctly contemporary point of view.
